Youssouf Mulumbu says he was always signing a new deal with West Bromwich Albion after the arrival of Nicolas Anelka.
Mulumbu has ended months of speculation by signing a three-year deal - because of the arrival of his old Paris Saint-Germain team-mate at the Hawthorns.
Midfielder Mulumbu, 26, told The Sun: "I came back from my holidays and saw my friend Nicolas had signed.
"Now I've signed and I think we'll sign more good players now. I'm really looking forward to the new season."
