Mourinho wants Man Utd defender Vidic at Real Madrid

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is chasing Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic.

The Mirror says Vidic is unsettled at Manchester United and his camp have hinted he may be interested in leaving Old Trafford.

Despite the centre-half insisting he is content at United, his wife is said to be unhappy in Manchester and he continues to be linked with moves away.

This has alerted Mourinho as he begins his job of turning Real's collection of Galacticos into winners and he has identified Vidic as someone who could boost his leaky defence.

Sir Alex Ferguson has repeatedly said he does not want to lose Vidic, who cost £7million from Spartak Moscow in 2005, and his pairing with Rio Ferdinand is the best in the Premier League.

However he may do business if Real offer £25million and Vidic makes it clear he wants to go.
