Mourinho: Spurs moving in right direction; Vertonghen...?

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is confident he'll have money to spend this summer.

Mourinho says he has been given assurances from the board that he won't have to sell his best players this summer.

On departures, meanwhile, coach Ricardo Formosinho is expected to take a head coach job elsewhere and their remains uncertainty over defender Jan Vertonghen's future.

On Vertonghen, Mourinho said: “After eight years at the club - and eight months for me - it's for Jan to be a man and speak about his future.

"Not me."

He also remarked, "I think we are going in the right direction. Very calm, organised, measured, thinking of everything.

"We know what we can do, which directions we can go in, which directions we cannot. We are very balanced, we're together. There are no doubts about what we need and what we can get.

"Step by step we will end with a better, more balanced squad, keeping the players we have is a very important thing."
