Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will seek permission from owner Roman Abramovich to spend big again this summer. The Daily Mail says he will recommend the newly-crowned Barclays Premier League champions strengthen significantly ahead of next season when he files his end-of-season report at the end of the month.
Despite their title success, Mourinho knows he must improve on the club's Champions League showing this season after they were knocked out of the competition by Paris St Germain in the second round.
Mourinho's dossier will identify a new goalkeeper, centre-back, left-back, attacking midfielder and striker as the areas that need addressing.
Technical director Michael Emenalo and influential director Marina Granovskaia have already held meetings with intermediaries, as the club prepare for another busy summer.
