Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has promised game time to goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer according to Australia boss Holger Osieck.
The 40-year old signed with the Blues recently after departing Fulham at the end of last season but is expected to play second fiddle behind Stamford Bridge number one Petr Cech.
However, Socceroos boss Osieck has been told by Schwarzer that returning Chelsea manager Mourinho has assured him of regular minutes in Southwest London.
"What he (Schwarzer) told me was when he agreed to sign for Chelsea, his signature was based on conversations with Mourinho, that he obviously promised to give him sufficient playing time because of the great number of games Chelsea has to play, in the league, in various cups and of course in Europe," Osieck said.
"Mark was very confident that there was a lot of honesty in Mourinho's words."
With Chelsea set to compete in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup this season, Schwarzer is likely to be a regular contributor for Mourinho.
