Joe Mourinho has delivered the Champions League to Inter Milan. In a battle between two clubs chasing historic trebles, Inter edged the first half at the Bernabeu with Hans-Jorg Butt twice denying Wesley Sneijder.
And Diego Milito's goal gave Inter Milan a half-time lead over Bayern in Madrid.
Milito combined well with Wesley Sneijder in the 34th minute before lofting a rising shot past Bayern goalkeeper Butt.
An even start to the second-half eventually saw Milito put the game beyond Bayern on 70 minutes with a superb second.
The Argentine controlled Samuel Eto'o's driven pass beautifully and then completely embarrassed Daniel van Buyten with a deft turn before beating Butt with another emphatic right-foot finish.
Milito's brace won Inter the Champions League and also saw his club become the first in Italy to win the Treble.
