Inter Milan went top after their 5-0 win at Genoa, but Jose Mourinho was eager to reign in the excitement.
Following the 1-1 draw with Fiorentina, Juventus are now four points adrift of Inter in the standings.
"When we were third I was asked if I preferred being in front or behind. Having said that, we are in October and there is a long way to go, so I see everyone as candidates for the Scudetto, regardless of how far back Milan, Roma and Juventus are.
"Then there are some squads we must respect. Fiorentina are a great side and it is no scandal for them to hold Juve, just as it would not be a scandal for Udinese to hold us next week.
"There are others like Sampdoria, Palermo and more who really can have a strong say in this campaign."
