West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has heaped praise on Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho.

The Baggies boss described the Portuguese, who guided the Blues to this season's Premier League title, as a great leader who gets the absolute most out of his players.

Ahead of Monday night's clash between the two sides, Pulis spoke highly of Mourinho who he feels is as important to Chelsea as some of the great leaders in history have been to their respective nations.

"I bet my life Jose would squeeze the life out of the players and get the result that's needed," he said.

"In history, the great leaders, you read about these people and you read why they win battles and why they win things. They've got an edge.

"Jose's got that edge."
