Moratti admits Mertens would've been good for Inter Milan

Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti admits Dries Mertens would've been a good signing.

Mertens was in talks with Inter before committing to Napoli last month.

“I would've liked to see Mertens at Inter, as I think he'd have been the ideal partner for Romelu Lukaku," Moratti told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“Aurelio De Laurentiis once again did very well to defend his players from the interest of other clubs.

"I had wanted Hamsik, even back when he was still playing for Brescia. I spoke to De Laurentiis, but was told he wasn't for sale."
