Monza coach Palladino hails Maldini potential after victory over Genoa

Monza coach Rafaele Palladino was delighted after their 3-2 win against Genoa.

Daniel Maldini was among the goalscorers, which left Palladino particularly pleased.

The coach said: "After the decisive goal I was smiling because I saw two 20-year-old boys like Carboni and Maldini rejoicing, they entered this stadium in a great way, they are two talents.

"The first half was perfect from all points of view, we put Genoa in difficulty and risked zero. In the second half, thanks to the skill of their coach, they put us in difficulty by also changing the game system, they managed to draw with merit, but I liked the character of the team, this is the victory of the group, winning like this is really very exciting.

"When I started this job I didn't report the things the coaches told me. Daniel is a very sensitive boy, I stimulate him and pamper him because for me he is truly a great player. Today he was supposed to play from the start but he had a sprain on his ankle and he wasn't at his best, I told him he would rock everything when he came on the pitch. In my opinion he has the qualities to play for a big club.

"I always rotate everyone, he can play as a winger, he is a very talented player. The players must always be stimulated, he is making a great journey. He always comes in well and when he plays as a starter he will do it great."
