Montreal Impact's Klopas eager to put CCL disappointment behind him

Frank Klopas is eager to put Montreal Impact's CONCACAF Champions League disaster behind them.

The Canadian club were beaten 4-2 by Club America in the second leg of the regional final to lose 5-3 on aggregate but Klopas does not want to dwell on the disappointment.

"There's a lot of room to make because we do have high expectations and goals for the season," Klopas told reporters.

"Now, it's important that, really quickly, we try to put this behind us and learn from it."

Klopas was quick to laud the Impact faithful for their brilliant support throughout the CCL campaign, culminating in a crowd of close to 60,000 at Stade Saputo on Wednesday night.

"I think [the fan support] will carry on, but it's also important that we get results," Klopas added.

"The fans are here. The people are here. As much as it hurts, we'll put this behind us and focus on our season because we have to make up a lot of games."

Montreal, who have played just four times in MLS this season, return to domestic action next weekend against Portland Timbers after they tackle Toronto FC in the Canadian Championship next week.
