Montpellier president Nicollin scoffs at "great" Newcastle

Montpellier president Louis Nicollin has enjoyed a fresh dig at the "great" Newcastle United. Nicollin has slapped a €16 million fee on Remy Cabella's back after Newcastle failed with an opening offer of €8 million.

Nicollin said: "Yes, the great English club Newcastle has made us an offer of 8million Euros and I refused.

"I think Newcastle is not for him and I also think they take us for idiots.

"They sold Cabaye to PSG for however many millions, they do not have to take us for morons."

And speaking to Le 10 Sport in France he said he wouldn't sell Cabella on the cheap.

He added: "I saw Thauvin was purchased for 16million Euros and I think Cabella is better than him so let's say that 16 million he leaves.

"And if nobody wants to give us that he will remain here.

"He still has two years of contract so there is no hurry.

"He will probably be upset for a month and then it will get better."
