Montpellier goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte has no regrets over his time with Atletico Madrid.

Lecomte spent last season on-loan with Atletico, where he acted as cover for No1 Jan Oblak.

He told L'Equipe: "When you only look at the numbers, you can tell yourself that I wasted time at Atlético... but in reality it wasn't like that at all. I trained with great players. It was an exceptional experience.

"The group was fantastic, the coach, Simeone, and the goalkeeping coach, Pablo Vercellone, are at the highest level, and being with Jan Oblak on a daily basis was incredible. Oblak has a very strong mind. All that inspired me to progress.

"I even raised the question of whether, despite the fact that I hadn't played a minute, I would stay or not. I really was very good there. I only regret not having played at least one game with this shirt."
