Montpellier manager Rolland Courbis has dismissed Swansea City's pursuit of wing-back Benjamin Stambouli.
Indeed, Courbis has mocked Swansea's finances and their prospects of landing the midfielder.
He said: "Our players who are internationals or future internationals attract the attention of big clubs. Montpellier is a big club, but Swansea is not a big club.
"I don't think Swansea is the Montpellier of England. It is not in England, it is in Wales.
"I see Stambouli as a 15million player. I'm not trying to sell him.
"I'd like to keep him and if he is sold in a year he will go to a bigger club who can double or triple what we can propose.
"But when Swansea's interest came to my ears, I almost laughed. I took a nervous giggle."
