Montella upset as Roma stunned by Juventus

AS Roma boss Vincenzo Montella was left disappointed with their defeat to Juventus.

Juve ended Vincenzo Montella's unbeaten Roma record, as Milos Krasic and Alessandro Matri secured the 2-0 victory.

He said: "It was an important match also thanks to the earlier results, which perhaps were distracting for us. Let us also look at the positive aspects, as we had a great first half and hit the crossbar. There is still a lot to achieve this season.

"Marco Storari performed some wonderful saves and don't forget he was in the Roma youth academy, so you can tell he's been trained well."

The defence seemed particularly shaky this evening against a reshuffled Juventus, while Mirko Vucinic and Jeremy Menez wasted good chances.

"The team was stretched out and that was the biggest problem I had tonight. In the second half they were pressing us more and more, then while I was making a substitution, Juve scored on the counter-attack.

"I do expect something more from Vucinic and Menez. They tried hard, but when you play with three strikers you cannot afford to waste chances. Considering the way we prepared for this match, I did expect more from them."
