Monaco drop interest in Leicester midfielder Silva

Monaco have ruled out a move for Adrien Silva from Leicester City.

The Portuguese international can leave the club before the close of the European transfer window on September 2.

While he was impressive at Monaco on loan during the second half of last season, the French side are not going to sign him permanently.

France Football says Rennes and AC Milan are two of the clubs in for Silva.

Monaco are not pushing forward with a move for the midfielder as they want someone more athletic and energetic next to Cesc Fabregas in the middle of the park.

Silva is not in the first team plans of Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers for the current Premier League season.
