Modric 'has asked Real Madrid board to let him leave'

Luka Modric has made a transfer request at Real Madrid.

That's according to Ok Diario's chief pundit Eduardo Inda, when speaking on El Chiringuito.

Inda said: "He has met with the coach and with the board. It has been a friendly chat because they are two educated people. Modric is uncomfortable when he is on the bench, from inside closed doors he is not so comfortable because he is a mega star and does not like anything.

"He said to the coach: 'Hey mister, you told me that you were counting on me and that I was going to be important and you are not complying'. There was an exchange of words and he dropped that if this continues in December, as I already said, he would leave the team.

"They are two reasonable guys and it has been between adults who get along well. Modric told him that he wanted to get to the top of the Euro Cup and that if he did not play as a starter, he would not stay in such conditions.

"The conversation with the board was in similar terms. He asked to leave, if this continues, in the month of January. He has not spoken directly to Florentino. He's been told to be patient, but patience runs out. I have my serious doubts that he will be a starter against Napoli."
