MLS secure French broadcaster

Pay-television broadcaster BeIN Sports has acquired exclusive rights in France to Major League Soccer over an unspecified term, reports SportBusiness.

Under the agreement, beIN is able to broadcast up to seven matches per game week from the North American football competition.

It will broadcast two showcase matches live on beIN Sports 1, 2 or 3, while the remaining matches will be broadcast on its MAX overflow channels.

Coverage will begin this weekend with Toronto v New York City, and beIN will show the full allocation of seven MLS matches in this weekend's round.

MLS has been without a broadcaster in France since the new season began on March 2.
