Ryan Giggs has revealed that David Beckham was unable to commit to the ownership group of Salford City.
Giggs, the Neville brothers, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes each have a 10% share of the Northern Premier League club but fellow 'Class of '92' graduate Beckham was too tied up in his efforts to get a Major League Soccer franchise off the ground in Miami that he was could not join his former Manchester United teammates in their group ownership of the Ammies.
"The conversation was had," said Giggs.
"Becks was busy with trying to get an MLS franchise so the timing wasn't great which we understood. He was busy and still is busy.
"It was a shame."
Giggs was speaking at the launch of 'A Class of 92: Out Of Their League' which is a TV documentary highlighting the group's ownership of Salford City which will be aired on the BBC in September.
