MLS dishing the funds in the way of $1.5million for stadium in Queens

The New York Post has reported that MLS chief Don Garber is desperate to have a second franchise in New York.

The league Commissioner has ordered the payment of close to $1.5million to lobbyists to win over officials so they can build a soccer-specific stadium in Queens.

MLS wants to receive government approvals for a 25,000-capacity, $300million stadium in Flushing Meadows Park with their desire evident by the cost of their lobbying.

Talk regarding a 20th MLS franchise has been ongoing for a long time now and it appears that a second New York side, to join the Red Bulls, will be granted that license.
