MLS attendances continuing to soar

MLS average attendances broke the 19,000-mark on the weekend as season totals continue to improve on previous years.

The 19,155 for the 12 matches played over the weekend reads higher than the 18,531 season average for weekly attendance numbers.

The aforementioned amount also ticked the season attendance total over the 5million mark for the 283 regular season games played so far in 2012.

Seattle Sounders continue to lead the way with a home season average of 42,134 (about 3,000 better than 2011) whilst Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids, Columbus Crew, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, Sporting Kansas City, New England Revolution, Portland Timbers, Real Salt Lake and league leaders San Jose Earthquakes are all up on last season's numbers.
