MK Dons land former Coventry skipper Baker

MK Dons have confirmed the signing of experienced attacking midfielder Carl Baker.

The 31-year old has penned a one-year deal with the League One club on a free transfer after departing Coventry City by mutual consent at the start of the month.

Baker, who captained Coventry during his time with the West Midlands club, is eager to do well with MK after scoring 28 goals in 182 appearances for the Sky Blues.

"I'm really pleased to be here and I'm excited to get going," Baker told his new club's official website.

"I've enjoyed the past week - there's a great bunch of lads here and you can see why we've started well.

"There were a few clubs interested in me but I wanted to come here for a number of reasons, the manager and his style of play being a big factor.

"Hopefully I can come in and help the Club kick on."

Baker's other former clubs include Southport, Morecambe and Stockport County.
