Leeds United have signed Tottenham's England Under-21 defender Adam Smith on loan until the end of the season.

Spurs recalled the right-back from MK Dons after cancelling his season-long stay at Stadium MK earlier on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old arrived at MK Dons in August and went on to make 17 league appearances for Karl Robinson's side.

Robinson told the club's website: "It is extremely disappointing to lose someone of Adam Smith's quality, he has made a great contribution to the Club this season but unfortunately he is not our asset. I feel let down and disappointed by the late notice, but our hands are tied in this situation.

"Adam Smith arrived at stadiummk as a good player and I truly believe myself, John, the staff and the players can take great pride knowing he leaves as a great player and a stronger character."
