Manuel Pellegrini insists it is no crying shame that his Manchester City side fell short in their quest to defend their Premier League title.
City were victorious last term but were beaten to the trophy by Chelsea this season after falling 13 points off the pace recently.
On Sunday, Pellegrini's side hammered QPR 6-0 to go within 11 points of the Blues - who drew 1-1 with Liverpool at home - prompting the Chilean to suggest that second place is not a failure.
"I don't think we need a revolution, last year we won two titles. I never can accept that this team is failing, because I don't think it is easy to win the title in the Premier League," he told Sky Sports.
"It is important to continue with this period, personality and desire. This year we lost many, many points, especially at home against not so strong teams.
"It's not easy for any team to win titles in a row because you have five very strong teams which have the same powerful squads and the same money to spend."
