Miralem Pjanic is pleased to have penned a new four-year contract with AS Roma.
Roma confirmed the new agreement before defeat to Juventus.
"A contract is not done from one day to the next, especially in a difficult season where I was concentrated on my performance," the 24-year-old told Mediaset Premium.
"Everyone knew I was happy to stay, as I want to continue taking the Roma jersey as high as possible.
"We will certainly be challenging for the Scudetto next season. We had a great campaign and Juve deserve compliments, as they broke records to win.
"This squad was built for victory and the mentality changed with Rudi Garcia. It is thanks to the Coach that I decided to stay, as I am here to win for many years."
