Newcastle Jets captain Ruben Zadkovich has emerged as a target for Millwall according to reports.
The Championship club are believed to be showing interest in the 27-year old midfielder who has previously spent time with QPR, Notts County and Derby County.
However, Jets CEO Robbie Middleby said he hadn't been contacted by Millwall whilst making clear that the A-League club would be loath to lose their skipper who is under contract for another two years.
"I've heard nothing from them at all, and two months out from the season the last thing we would want would be to lose our captain," Middleby said.
The Lions, with Australians Shane Lowry and Scott McDonald in two, lost 1-0 to Yeovil Town in their opening match of the 2013/14 Championship season on Saturday.
