Salford City's multi-millionaire owners are chasing two players from ChampionshipPreston North End.
The Mirror says the club bankrolled by Manchester United's Class of '92 have already lured striker Adam Rooney away from Pittodrie with a £4,000-a-week contract.
And now they are looking to loan North End pair Connor Simpson and Daryl Horgan.
Teenager Simpson, who has been described as the new 'Andy Carroll' was snapped up by Preston from Hartlepool United in January and they are ready to let him leave on an initial six-month loan.
Likewise, 25-year-old Horgan – a Republic of Ireland international winger who joined North End from Dundalk last year – is also available on loan.
