Ljubo Milicevic is on the verge of signing a permanent deal with Newcastle Jets. The club signed the former Melbourne Victory defender on a short-term deal in February but his form in the Asian Champions League has impressed Jets coaches immensely.

It is understood that Milicevic's leadership on and off the field is something the Jets hierarchy are keen to secure and would love to obtain his services for season five of the A-League and beyond.
