Milicevic calm about Newcastle Jets plight

Newcastle Jets' acting captain Ljubo Milicevic said he is not too worried about the current position the club finds itself in.

The Hunter Valley club are presently sitting second bottom on the league table, equal on points with bottom team Sydney FC, but Milicevic feels there is no cause for concern as things will certainly turn in their favour.

} "I think we were last at one stage last year in the second half of the season, and we went on a run where we won four or five games in a row and climbed up to third," he told the Newcastle Herald.

"So I don't think we have to be worried.

"We're not in a scenario where some of the other teams are, where we're leaking goals . . . I don't think we have to be worried, but we definitely have to keep working hard like we have been and the results will come our way.

"We just need to get a string of games together, and in the next five weeks or two months we will.

"In two months' time, if we're sitting where we are, then we can forget about it, but I don't think we should be shooting ourselves in the foot just yet."

Newcastle get the chance to go clear of Sydney when they meet them at Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday.
