AC Milan has joined rival Juventus in agreeing a sponsorship deal with Italian transport company Trenitalia, reports SportBusiness. Trenitalia is the primary train operator in Italy and the Serie A giant has agreed a deal for its Frecciarossa service to become an official partner of the club for the 2012-13 season.
The high-speed service links the cities of Turin, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Rome and Naples. The agreement means the sponsor's logo will be visible on advertising boards around the pitch at the San Siro, along with the backdrops used for official club activities.
Juventus entered into a similar agreement earlier this month.
A club statement read: "Milan chose Frecciarossa as it is a global brand that is renowned for a quality service. The partnership will see developments in important marketing initiatives, and also the use of the train for some away trips.
"Meanwhile the club and Trenitalia are working towards creating benefits for Rossoneri fans."
