Milan 0-2 Ajax: Dutch giants rise above loss of manager to down Rossoneri

MILAN: Ajax Amsterdam have put aside the loss of manager Martin Jol during the week to defeat AC Milan 2-0 at the San Siro.

The win enabled the Dutch club to qualify for the Europa League and gave them plenty of hope for the season ahead.

Demy De Zeeuw put them ahead three minutes prior to the hour-mark when he beat Milan keeper Marco Amelia after following up a blocked shot before Toby Alderweireld made it 2-0 nine minutes later.

Amsterdam moved clear of AJ Auxerre to grab third spot and despite the loss, Milan remained second to move through to the next phase behind Real Madrid.
