Simon Mignolet has accepted Craig Gordon being recalled to the Sunderland first team.
Mignolet deputised for the Scotland international when the latter tweaked his hamstring in training last week and, one or two scary moments with crosses aside, pulled off a number of saves to deny Fulham victory and secure a point for his side.
He told The Journal: "I know Craig is a good goalkeeper, we work hard together and try to push each other.
"That's good. If I work hard, he works hard and we only get better.
"If he plays the next game, I will support him and I think he'll support me if I stay in the team. When you're a professional football player, you have to be ready even when you're on the bench. It's easier if you focus yourself on every game.
"When you come in, there's always some pressure on yourself because you know everybody is looking at you to see how you're doing.
"I'm very happy that I kept a clean sheet."
