Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing wants a summer move to Liverpool.

The News of the World says Downing will hold out for a £12million summer move to Liverpool before deciding his future.

Boro winger Downing, 24, is back on Rafa Benitez's list of targets as the Kop boss was turned down in his first bid to sign Valencia's David Silva.

He was the subject of a bid from Tottenham in January but his preferred destination is Liverpool.
