Middlesbrough set to agree fee with Liverpool for Jones

English Championship club Middlesbrough are reportedly set to agree a fee with Liverpool for goalkeeper Brad Jones. The Daily Mirror suggests that Reds boss Roy Hodgson has returned to Boro with a $AUD3.4million (£2m) bid for the 28-year old Australian after having a $AUD2.6million (£1.5m) offer rejected.

Teessiders boss Gordon Strachan was initially keen to retain Jones but these fresh reports indicate he may be on his way to Anfield with Liverpool hopeful of securing his services.

Jones would count as a homegrown player if he was to move to Liverpool due to the amount of time he has already spent in the UK.
