Middlesbrough ready to sell Jones to Liverpool

Liverpool are upping their offer for Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Jones.

The Mirror says Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson will make a new £2million bid for Middlesbrough keeper Brad Jones today.

The Kop are upping their original offer and Boro are set to accept the fee for the big Australian, who will be allowed to head to Merseyside as the main competition for No.1 Pepe Reina.

Boro were holding out for £3m, but have now lowered their demands and Jones will make the move to Anfield as a 'home-grown player' under new Premier League rules, because of the time he has spent in England.
