Steve Agnew has spoken of his decision to leave Hull City this month.

Agnew left Hull as Steve Bruce's No2 to join Middlesbrough.

"It was a really tough decision, a big call that I had to think long and hard about," he told the Hull Daily Mail

"Middlesbrough is a club that's close to my heart. I've lived in the area for a long time and a lot of my coaching career has come with Middlesbrough since I started out 12 years ago.

"A lot of things went through my mind, even until the last second. Steve said to me 'It's your decision. You would go with our best wishes but have a good think about it.' Eventually I made the decision that I did."
