Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is delighted to have kicked off preseason training this week with Mido and Robert Huth both involved.

Southgate told the club's official website, www.mfc.co.uk: "Mido has been working with one of our fitness coaches in Egypt for four weeks during the summer.

"That was something he organised for himself and he has come back in good condition.

"Rob is another player who we saw for a spell last season what an outstanding player he is. That's why I'm quite comfortable about the squad.

"The size is about right and it's also important we don't block the way forward for some good young players we have coming through."
