Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has hailed the influence of coach Steve Agnew.

"Steve is an excellent coach and I'm delighted he'll be working with the first team," he told Boro's website.

"He's passed his UEFA Pro Licence, as have David Parnaby and Martin Scott.

"Steve also played most of his career in midfield so he brings that experience and expertise and that can only be of benefit."
