Middlesbrough boss Mowbray confident of deal for Wolves keeper Ikeme

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray is ready to snap up Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme on-loan.

Wolves had given Ikeme permission to train with Boro and he played in Friday's 3-2 friendly defeat by PSV Eindhoven at The Riverside.

He appears to have done enough to earn a temporary move to Teesside and Mowbray is waiting for the green light from Wolves to complete a loan deal.

"I'd like to thank Mick McCarthy for lending me him to play," Mowbray told the club's official website.

"One of their (Wolves) goalkeepers has had a slight knock, but if he comes through their game okay then I would be hopeful a loan agreement would be put in place on Monday."
