Middlesbrough are set to finally land Spurs striker Mido after being forced to shell out an extra £1million.
North East rivals Sunderland attempted to hijack the 24-year-old Egyptian's move by upping their bid to £7m just hours after Boro had a £6m offer accepted, says The Sun.
But Boro matched the valuation and Mido should move to Teesside in a £40,000-a-week deal in the next 48 hours after a medical.
