Mexico recorded a 2-0 win over Serbia in Queretaro thanks to goals from Carlos Salcido and Javier Hernandez. Salcido, who is on loan at Mexican club UANL from Fulham, broke the deadlock after just two minutes, and Manchester United striker Hernandez then doubled their advantage three minutes from time from the penalty spot.
The kick was awarded following a push on Hernandez by Manchester City defender Aleksandar Kolarov, who was dismissed for a second yellow card.
The victory means Mexico has won 11 games, drawn four and lost one game in 2012, all under coach Jose Manuel de la Torre.
