Mexican prodigy Raul Mendiola is wanted by Manchester City.
Boss Roberto Mancini has handed a six-week trial to the US-based striker, 17, who impressed City scouts during a tournament.
Mendiola, formerly with Mexican side Pachuca, now plays for Arsenal - the youth team of Californian club Alta Loma.
And the teenager's mum, Claudia Velador, said: "Raul will spend six weeks on trial with Manchester City.
"He's been training with their reserves and academy for a fortnight. They've looked after him well and he is very happy there."
