AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes concedes they've hit rock bottom this season.

Milan are sitting in the bottom half of the table.

"We must take the same approach we did against Napoli after the red card, as it's the only way we can get a few points," the defender told Milan Channel.

"After all, we really can't do much worse. We have to stay united, as we all need our team-mates and must all feel like leaders.

"We know the fans are not happy and it's up to us to get them back on our side.

"On a personal level, perhaps this has been one of my best seasons, but I cannot consider it positive because we are all in the same boat.

"Now we need grit and pride to honour the shirt."
