Real Madrid defender Christoph Metzelder says it's no surprise they're being linked with Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack and Werder Bremen's Diego.

He said: "New players are associated with Madrid every day. It is because the club allows these rumors and does not deny them, it is part of its policy.

"There are many players here who would be happy to stay with the club by renewing their contracts. Most important is that the white shirt is world famous and to play in the Bernabeu... is something I have achieved."
