Lionel Messi says Barcelona teammate Xavi is the greatest player Spain has produced.

Xavi will leave Barca after the Champions League final this weekend.

Messi said: "Everyone knows what he can do on the field, he's a player who dictates the rhythm of the game, he reads the game excellently.

"It's been a pleasure to play alongside him for so long and to enjoy his football in games but also in training, he's the best player in the history of Spanish football."
