Mert Demirci Nijmeijer is happy with his progress at Valencia.

The 16 year-old Dutch goalkeeper joined Los Che last summer from Rayo Majadahonda.

He is part of Holland's U17 squad and admits having Jasper Cillessen as a senior teammate has been a big bonus this season.

Demirci told Voetbalzone: “He's kind of a mentor to me. He helps me as much as possible.

"During my first training with the firsts it didn't go very well because they shot much harder than I was used to. Then he explained how to hold my hands or how to time my actions better.

"He is very nice to me and Jaume also gives me useful tips that I learn a lot from. This allows me to develop well. I hope to be ready for the first team in three or four years' time."
