The agent of Felipe Melo says the midfielder will stay with Fiorentina after signing a new contract this week.
"The fact that Felipe is now worth lots money must be an honour for both the player and the club," said the player's agent, Umberto Fusco.
"Fiorentina's initial investment of £6m has been largely compensated, so they must be delighted about it.
"The release clause was set to let the players in the squad understand that whenever they don't feel like they are part of the project they can move on.
"I don't think the Viola want to sell him now. It's better to wait for the World Cup when his value will rise."
