Melbourne Victory captain Kevin Muscat has received a two match ban for an incident in Friday night's 1-0 loss to Gold Coast United at Skilled Park.
The veteran defender/midfielder committed the offence "Serious Foul Play (e.g. when challenging for the ball)" against Jason Culina and proposed a sanction of two matches. This is one additional match to the one match minimum sanction for such an offence.
Muscat has until 12:00 noon (AEDT) tomorrow to accept the proposed sanction or refer the matter to a hearing by the FFA Disciplinary Committee but is likely to miss the final home and away matches against North Queensland Fury and Sydney FC.
