Melbourne Victory star Mark Milligan believes the Australian national team is in a very strong position with its refreshing youth policy.
The 30-man preliminary Socceroos squad is preparing for the 2014 World Cup at a training camp in Gosford and Milligan admits being surrounded by such a young group of players has certainly had its positives.
20 of the 30 players called in by Ange Postecoglou are aged 25 years or under which has prompted 27-times capped midfielder Milligan to speak of the enthusiasm and liveliness in training thus far.
"I think it's very exciting times," Milligan said.
"So I think, when you mix that with Ange's philosophies and the way he's able to get the best out of his players, it's going to be a very exciting tournament for us.
" I think these players are definitely players that will adapt, and adapt quickly, and won't show resistance when it comes to learning what needs to be learnt."
Victory skipper Milligan added: "Everyone who was named in the 30 has an honest chance of making the 23.
"A good attitude and a willingness to work and learn makes it a very tough decision for Ange to pick that final 23 and I think it should be every player's goal to make it hard for him."
