Melbourne Victory coach Ernie Merrick says the club will remain patient until they find the right striker to sign.
The two-time A-League champions are currently experiencing a striker shortage with marquee man Archie Thompson sidelined for at least the next three months and Robbie Kruse currently out of action with a hamstring strain (although he is due to return this weekend) but Merrick says he is no rush to bring just anybody in despite starting the season with a draw and a loss.
"I didn't think we were flat against Perth the other night," Merrick said after the 2-0 home loss to the Glory on Saturday night.
"Our passing was good and we created chances, just like we did against Sydney (3-3).
"There are still another 28 games to go. It is a long season. As for finding another striker, we won't be rushed."
The Victory take on North Queensland Fury at AAMI Park on Sunday afternoon - kick-off is at 3:00pm.
